How you feeling today? I hope you’re having a great day. If not, I suggest you go on Google and type Syria. Not beautiful right? Well this is just an example. There are so many places in the world where things are not beautiful.
Why am I depressing you even more…this won’t make your day better, right? Pep talk???Do you understand how many souls in this world are destroyed? Can you see how unfair the world is? How come some of us have so much luck and others don’t? Where is the logic?
Even more brain-wracking: how come very often the unluckiest ones can rejoice and appreciate life much more than the luckiest ones? See, I think that when you have everything (by everything I mean a home, food and people that love you), you have the luxury to think and overanalyze. Inevitably, you will find yourself problems. For those who have been through war, food + home + loved ones = paradise.
Depressing thoughts. Or not. It’s your choice. You can choose to depress and feel guilty about your richness. Or you can appreciate every moment in this beautiful life of yours. Smile. Go talk to that person you’ve never had the courage to talk to. Go rock your presentation like a star. Enjoy school: you have the privilege to learn so many amazing things instead of holding a gun. Don’t let anything stop you. Do what you have to do!!!
And most importantly, do something good for someone else. Anyone. A happier person will make another happy. It’s all a chain of events that lead to a better world. So maybe you can’t help Syrians directly, but you can still make a difference. Your presence in this world is essential.
Never let anyone bring you down. It’s not worth it.
Now fly little bird.
With love, The Hungry Dog.
